Keel Club
The Keel of a great ship is the main timber of the ship's bottom that extends from bow to stern and supports the whole frame.
At the base of every significant human effort, we find a leadership group that provides the organization with a strength, character, purpose, and longevity that distinguishes it from all others. To recognize the importance and dedication of its leaders, the United Way formed a special leadership group called the Keel Club. United Way highlights this group because we know a keel does not just happen; it is designed carefully and prepared through the efforts of many people working together for a common purpose.
Members of the Keel Club, through their contributions and support of the United Way, have joined with other concerned individuals to provide the framework upon which our community and the United Way organization can build. Like a keel that is strengthened by various materials, the United Way Keel Club is strengthened by the personal efforts of leaders in addition to their financial support.
